College Basketball Betting – Hoyas, Jayhawks Go Head-To-Head In Hawaii
Posted on 18. Nov, 2011 in Betting
The NCAA football season is winding down, which means it’s time for the hoops campaign to tip off with its early-season tournaments and the Maui Invitational may be the biggest of them all. A pair of high-profile players will square off as Georgetown takes on Kansas.
Georgetown Kansas Odds – Monday, 11:50 PM ET
The Hoyas (2-0) raced out to a 41-16 halftime lead and never looked back in an 86-45 thrashing of UNC-Greensboro, led by 19 points from Hollis Thompson and 17 from Jason Clark, who will be looked upon for leadership. Georgetown’s per head odds aren’t that great this season and they weren’t even ranked in the preseason top 25, but they’re well coached and in Thompson, they have a budding star.
The No.11 Jayhawks (1-1) should drop in the rankings after a 75-65 loss to Kentucky in New York, but they shouldn’t be ashamed of losing to a team with several future NBA picks. Tyshawn Taylor led the way with 22 points, while Thomas Robinson added 11 points and 12 boards, but the Jayhawks will need more from the supporting cast to avoid a freefall down the Big 12.
Kansas should be the favorites as they’ll be the ranked team, but they’re a bit overvalued this year, while Georgetown is a darkhorse you should grab immediately. Strangely, these national powerhouses have never played each other before, and we’re giving this matchup to the Hoyas as Kansas just isn’t as good as they usually are. Make Georgetown your online wagering pick on Monday night.
