College Basketball Odds – Blue Devils Welcome Belmont To Cameron
Posted on 10. Nov, 2011 in Betting
Even NFL fans are familiar with the “Cameron Crazies”, the raucous crowd at Duke’s Cameron Indoor Stadium, and they’ll be loud for Friday’s regular-season opener against Belmont, who went to the NCAA Tournament last season.
Belmont Duke Odds – Friday, 9:00 PM ET
The Bruins rolled to the Atlantic Sun title last year and put a scare into Wisconsin in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before falling by 14 points. Nine players are back for the Bruins, who are the A-Sun favorites in your bookie software, and they won’t be afraid to go into Duke as they’re experienced and physical up front. The duo of Mick Hedgepeth and Scott Saunders will make it tough on the Duke big men in the post.
The No.6 Blue Devils were romped by Arizona in the Sweet Sixteen, and even though they have freshman guard Austin Rivers on campus, Duke may be trying to go inside more with the Plumlee brothers, Mason and Miles, along with Ryan Kelly. Belmont will be a good test to see if the Duke big men have improved because we know they’re going to be strong on the perimeter; that’s what Duke does.
College basketball odds will favor the Blue Devils at home, where they have won 86 in a row over non-conference opponents and overall, Duke hasn’t lost at Cameron since February 11th, 2009, against North Carolina. Belmont won’t end that streak, but they’re not going to roll over for the Blue Devils either. Take Duke straight up, but beware of the spread when you bet on sports.
