Jayhawks should find themselves on top in March

Like playing in an online super casino, picking the winner of the NCAA Tournament can be a crapshoot sometimes. With 64 teams, there’s always a few upsets along the way. We think Kansas can overcome the obstacles.

Kansas (+350)

The Jayhawks showed they can be a force with a tough 81-79 overtime win at Kansas State, which is a very good team in a hostile environment. The reason that the Jayhawks, who won it all in 2008, get the edge over teams like Kentucky (+400) and Big 12 rival Texas (+500) is their experience, namely in the senior duo of Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich. Both contributed to the 2008 championship team, and they settled the Jayhawks down at Kansas State to pull them to a win. You need players who aren’t going to panic when it starts to get rough, and Collins and Aldrich have seen it all. Also, in Aldrich, the Jayhawks have arguably the best big man in the nation, and he’s a force at both ends of the floor. They’re talented and deep elsewhere, and if they can remain committed to defense, there’s no reason that the Jayhawks shouldn’t come away with the title. Check out their showdown in Austin with Texas on February 8th.
